Description:
Zinc wire is a product of rolled metal products mainly intended for spraying zinc on the surface of parts by galvanising to produce an anti-corrosion coating.
Zinc wire has a characteristic blue-white hue. The material melts at a temperature of 420 °C. During the galvanisation process, zinc is quickly and evenly distributed over the surface of the other metal and forms a stable oxide film. The zinc layer protects the metal part from moisture, alkalis and acids.
The use of zinc is very common throughout industry. It is used, for example, as a galvanic coating on steel against corrosion. Furthermore, zinc wire can be used as a filler material in welding. The joint is impermeable and resistant to the influence of external aggressive factors. Zinc wire is often used for the manufacture of press moulds.
Properties of zinc wire:
- high resistance to mechanical damage
- resistance of the finished coating to hard water
- the area of the treated surface is practically unlimited
- anti-corrosion zinc coating does not require any additional treatment and in most cases can be put into operation immediately after treatment
Fields of application of zinc wire:
- Mechanical engineering
- Refrigeration
- Electrical engineering
- Construction
- Chemical industry
- Oilfield
