Description:
Alloy 718 is a premium, high temperature alloy specifically designed and developed to operate at temperatures up to 980°C.
Alloy 718's unique formulation offers increased strength and corrosion resistance combined with ease of machinability and weldability. Its main advantages are resistance to corrosion damage in the area of welded joints and high tensile strength at temperatures up to 700 °C.
Due to its high chromium and molybdenum content, material 2.4668 has excellent resistance to localized corrosion in many environments, both at high and low temperatures. Due to its high chromium content, the material 2.4668 also has a high resistance to stress corrosion cracking, making it one of the outstanding materials for use in oil fields, H2S sour gas and marine applications.
Properties of the material 2.4668:
- good mechanical properties
- excellent corrosion resistance at high and low temperatures
- excellent creep rupture strength
- high fatigue strength
- good machinability
Main application of the material 2.4668:
- Offshore and marine engineering installations
- Aerospace
- nuclear reactors
- high-strength screws
- chemical industry
- oil and gas industry
