Welding wire NiCrFe-12 TIG 2.4649 Nickel Welding rods Nicrofer® S 6025 Ø 1.6-3.2mm
The material 2.4649 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy that has a particularly low concentration of silicon dioxide and carbon and is characterized by high corrosion resistance and good strength.
Due to the extremely low concentrations of carbon and silica, Alloy 602 CA does not tend to dissolve grain boundaries when thermoformed or welded. Therefore the alloy can be used in many chemical processes with oxidizing and reducing media. In addition, Alloy 602 CA is more resistant to chloride ions due to the high concentrations of nickel, chromium and molybdenum.
The corrosion tests described in the relevant standards generally refer to oxidizing conditions in which Alloy 602 CA has been shown to outperform all other Ni-Cr-Mo alloys. But Alloy 602 CA is also very resistant to reducing conditions. Accordingly, its boiling corrosion rate from 10% sulfuric acid is less than a third of the attack measured on other introduced Ni-Cr-Mo alloys. Due to this excellent behavior, the alloy has also proven itself in the chemical industry for reducing material applications.
Alloy 602 CA can be welded with the same types of metal as many other metals using conventional methods.
