This alloy is melted in both open arc furnaces and vacuum arc furnaces.
The heat-resistant alloy xn38vt has a nickel content of 35-39% and a chromium content of 20-23%, making it suitable for the manufacture of wear-resistant products. The addition of titanium and tungsten further increases the heat resistance of the material. For this reason, this alloy is often used to manufacture parts for gas pumping systems.
Both the alloy xn38vt and its international equivalents are characterised by high corrosion resistance in acidic environments and are resistant to pitting corrosion, which is particularly dangerous for structural steels.
