Invar® 36 is a 36% nickel-iron binary alloy known for its low coefficient of expansion. The material 1.3912 has a very low coefficient of thermal expansion at room temperature and minimal fluctuations at cryogenic temperatures, making it ideal for use in precision components.
The sheets made of the material 1.3912 are also used in applications where dimensional stability is critical, e.g. B. in tools for the production of composite materials used in aerospace and automotive applications. Invar® 36 is also used in the manufacture, storage and transportation of liquefied gases.
