High-alloy stainless steel 1.4501 consists of 25% chromium, 6-8% nickel and special alloy additives depending on the type. S32760 stainless steel has tungsten and an addition of copper in its chemical composition compared to S32750.

In addition, the two grades do not differ too much in the concentration of other chemical elements. The material 1.4501 has high strength, resistance to high salt concentrations and low sensitivity to salt compounds at elevated temperatures. In addition, it retains its resistance to crevice corrosion, fatigue, pitting corrosion and intergranular corrosion resistance.

Super duplex steels find applications in the chemical, paper, cryogenic and power industries for parts and subassemblies such as pumps, shafts, bushings, air structures, heat exchangers, coolers, chemical transport lines, specialty tanks, valves and bolts. The described super duplex steel 1.4501 is hyper-quenched at temperatures between 1020 and 1100 °C.
