The material 2.4060 is characterised by a very high oxidation and corrosion resistance. 2.4060 is insensitive to types of corrosion such as pitting and intercrystalline corrosion. The specific resistance of 2.4060 is lower than that of nickel 99.2. Nickel sheet 2.4060 has a high temperature coefficient.
The application possibilities are manifold. Sheets of pure nickel are mainly used for the production of connections for heating elements as well as for heating coils in spark plugs. The material 2.4060 is magnetic up to about +350 °C. It has the high application temperature of approx. It has a high application temperature of approx. +700 °C in air.
The technical hot formability of nickel is based on an invention by the company founder Theodor Fleitmann: the addition of magnesium makes the material rollable and forgeable.
Properties of the material 2.4060:
- high oxidation resistance
- high corrosion resistance
- good mechanical properties
- good weldability
Main applications for the material 2.4060:
- electronic components
- process engineering equipment
- food industry
- electroplating
