Titanium Grade 2 is a pure titanium from the group of reactive metals. The material has an excellent strength to elongation ratio. The grade has a high notched impact strength. The material 3.7035 has good weldability and corrosion resistance in strongly oxidising and moderately reducing environments. If the oxide layer is damaged, new oxide forms in the presence of oxygen. Titanium flat bars are castable and are often used for valves and fittings.
Titanium Grade 2 not only has a low specific weight, but also excellent mechanical properties. Titanium Grade 2 flat bars are characterised by a favourable density, high ductility and good creep strength. Due to its excellent tissue compatibility and biocompatibility, pure titanium is also used in medical technology. The possibility of colouring by anodising makes it interesting for the jewellery industry.
