The material 40h is a chromium-nickel structural steel that belongs to the group of quenched and tempered and higher-strength steels. You can order this high-quality steel easily, quickly and cheaply from our online shop Auremo.
The majority of this steel contains chromium (0.8-1.1%). Chromium gives the steel increased strength and hardness as well as good hardenability.
Chromium also increases the corrosion resistance of the steel, as a thin oxide layer forms on the surface, which protects the metal from harmful environmental influences.

Steel 40h is used for the production of axles and rods for torque transmission, gear shafts, pistons, pipe fittings, rings, rotating parts, measuring instruments, bolts, parts for devices with rotating drums and conical parts.
