Alloy X-750 has good mechanical properties at high temperatures up to 800 °C. The alloy was developed from Alloy 600 by adding aluminium and titanium to make the alloy precipitation hardenable. Alloy X-750 also shows good formability and excellent high temperature oxidation resistance.
Alloy X-750 offers excellent performance in highly stressed environments, which is why it is often used in gas turbines, nuclear reactors and aircraft structures.
Alloy X-750 nickel can be machined using conventional machining processes used for iron-based alloys. High-speed operations such as grinding, turning or milling are performed with water-based coolants. Drilling, broaching, tapping or boring are carried out using heavy lubricants.
