Manganese wire 2.1362 is made from the manganese alloy of the same name, which consists of copper (85%), manganese (12%) and nickel (2-3%). The wire can have different diameters to solve different production problems.
The main applications of manganese wire are instrumentation and electrical engineering. According to the standards, the use of manganese wire is permitted at operating temperatures of not more than 300 °C. If the product quality is unstable, the operating temperature should not exceed 80 °C. If the product quality is stable, the operating temperature should not exceed 200 °C.
Manganese wire is produced in different diameters so that it can be used for different purposes and for certain electrical work. If manganese wire is to be used for the manufacture of wire resistors, the product must be annealed in a vacuum at a temperature of 400 °C and then gradually cooled.
Properties of manganese wire:
- low temperature coefficient of electrical resistance (20-50 °C)
- high long-term stability
- good workability
- good corrosion resistance
Main application of manganese:
- Production of precision, standard and shunt resistors
- Production of ISA-PLAN and ISA-WELD resistors
- Replacement material for silver solders
- as a measuring lead in cryostats
