Thulium metal 99.9% pure metal Tm Rare metals from 1gr to 10kg

Thulium is a very soft, easily malleable and forgeable metal from the lanthanide group. It has the atomic number 69 and is counted among the rare earths. Thulium shows good resistance to dry air. It takes on the gray color in humid air. At elevated temperatures, thulium converts to Tm₂O₃ (sesquioxide). It is not resistant to water and thus reacts with the formation of hydrogen to hydroxide. The metal is soluble in mineral acids with evolution of hydrogen.

Due to its properties, thulium is of little use:

• television and laser devices;
• as a dopant;
• as a source of X-rays (gamma ray).
• Thulium has the following characteristics:

• very soft;
• easy to forge and stretch;
• air resistant;
• soluble in mineral acids.
