The stainless round steel 1.4828 is a standard grade for various high-temperature components and furnace construction. Compared to 1.4878 and 1.4713, stainless steel 1.4828 has significantly improved resistance. Thanks to its good tensile strength at higher temperatures, 1.4828 is ideal compared to other alloys for applications where particular emphasis is placed on mechanical properties.
Optimum processing and service properties are achieved with this steel by solution annealing at 1050 °C - 1150 °C with subsequent cooling in air or water. During production and processing, the temperature range is between 650 °C and 850 °C.
The material 1.4828 can be processed using all standard welding processes. Preheating is not necessary. Post-weld treatment is also not required.
