Tungsten is one of the heaviest, hardest and most heat-resistant metals. Melting point of pure tungsten is 3422 °C, boiling point is 5555 °C. One of the most common products made from this refractory material is tungsten sheet.

At a temperature of approx. 1600 °C, it is well suited for forging and can be drawn into a fine thread. The metal is very resistant to vacuum. The density of pure tungsten is 19.3 g/cm³. Tungsten has paramagnetic properties. Tungsten sheet has excellent corrosion resistance and is only slightly affected by most mineral acids.
