Properties of the material 2.4858: excellent corrosion resistance; good weldability; good toughness at temperatures up to 550 °C; good mechanical properties;
Main application of the material 2.4858: oil and gas extraction; phosphoric and sulfuric acid plants; petrochemicals; nuclear engineering;
Inconel® Alloy 600 is a base alloy specifically designed for use in field applications where high corrosion resistance is required along with high temperature and heat resistance.
The combination of good mechanical properties with high strength and easy machinability ensure the universal use of this alloy over a wide temperature range.
Due to the high concentration of nickel in the composition of the alloy, it becomes resistant to the influence of a wide variety of compounds. This alloy is practically inert to chloride attack and the presence of chromium provides a neutral reaction in sulphurous environments, oxidation, resistance to aggressive compounds and high temperatures.
The material 2.4816 is resistant to a large number of corrosive media. The chromium content makes the alloy more stable than nickel 99.2 and LC-nickel 99.2 under oxidizing conditions. At the same time, the high nickel content gives good stability under reducing conditions and in alkaline solutions. The alloy is insensitive to stress corrosion cracking caused by chloride ions.
