Description:
Nickel 200 is a solid solution strengthened, commercially pure wrought material with excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. It also has exceptional resistance to caustic alkalis at various concentrations and temperatures. However, the corrosion resistance is better in deaerated acid. The alloy has low gas content and vapor pressure and high thermal and electrical conductivity.
It has good mechanical properties and excellent resistance to many corrosive environments. Other useful features of the alloy are its magnetic and magnetostrictive properties, high thermal and electrical conductivity, low gas content, and low vapor pressure. The corrosion resistance of Nickel 200 makes it particularly useful for maintaining product purity when handling food, synthetic fibers and caustic alkalis, and also in structural applications where corrosion resistance is a primary consideration. Other applications include chemical transport drums, electrical and electronic parts, aerospace and missile components.
