Description:

The AlMg4.5Mn welding electrode is made of an aluminium-magnesium alloy for TIG welding of aluminium alloys with high tensile strength requirements. The material 3.3548 is suitable for welding Al-Mg alloys and Al-Mg-Mn alloys. The 3.3548 aluminium electrodes have excellent corrosion resistance to seawater and marine atmosphere. Operating temperatures are up to +80 °C, cold-tough up to -196 °C.

Welded seam areas must be metallically bright. Larger workpieces should be preheated to +150°C.

Please note the permissible operating temperatures for the filler metal and the base metal: AlMg 3 (3.3535), AlMg 4.5 Mn (3.3547), AlMg 5 (3.3555) AlMg 2 Mn 0.8, AlMg 2.7 Mn, AlCuMg 1 (3.1325), AlMgSi 1 (3.2315), AlZn 4.5 Mg 1 (3.4335).

Properties of the material 3.3548:

• not recommended for anodising
• good welding properties
• cold-tough up to -196°C
