Stainless steel hexagonal 1.4305 SW 4mm-60mm VA V2A 303 rod hexagonal hexagonal rod
Stainless steel hexagonal 1.4305 SW 4mm-60mm VA V2A 303 rod 6-sided hexagonal rod
Description:
Stainless steel hexagonal is made of stainless austenitic stainless steel with the material number 1.4305. This steel grade contains up to approx. 19% chromium, 10% nickel and 0.35% sulphur. Due to the sulphur content, the material offers very good machinability: so it can be easily processed by turning, grinding, milling and drilling. However, because of the sulphur content, the steel has medium corrosion resistance. Furthermore, it has medium mechanical properties.
Stainless steel hexagonal is not suitable for welding and forging. Cracking can occur during welding. The use of the steel in seawater or acidic and chloride environments is also severely restricted by the sulphur content: pitting corrosion can occur. The steel can only be polished to a limited extent. The material is particularly suitable for machining on automatic machines.
Hexagonal stainless steel is used in the following areas:
- Architecture and decoration;
- electronic equipment;
- Fittings for medium corrosive stress;
- kitchen equipment;
- food industry.
Hexagonal 1.4305 stainless steel is characterised by:
- very good machinability;
- medium corrosion resistance;
- medium mechanical properties;
- not weldable and forgeable;
- poor polishability;
- particularly suitable for machining.
