Alloy C-22 is a versatile austenitic material based on Ni-Cr-Mo-W. The alloy is resistant to corrosion and aggressive environments. The material is suitable for use in wet chlorine, nitric acid mixtures and oxidising chlorine ions.
The high chromium content ensures good resistance to oxidising media, while molybdenum and tungsten ensure resistance to reduction.
The alloy is used in industries where resistance to stress corrosion and pitting is required. The tubes are part of the equipment used in the pharmaceutical, food and processing industries.
They are used in systems for the production of hygiene and care products.
The material offers optimum resistance to changing media in process streams in which reducing and oxidising species occur. The alloy can be used primarily in industries with heterogeneous media.
