The heat-resistant steel AISI 310S is an analogue of AISI 310 with low carbon content. This version is characterized by additions of nickel and chromium, which increase the strength properties of the steel. The material is highly resistant to all types of corrosion (surface, crack, and crevice corrosion). The material 1.4845 has excellent flow resistance over a wide temperature range.
The marking of steels with AISI 310 guarantees the maintenance of their physical parameters at temperatures not exceeding 1000°C. In this case, forging can be done at temperatures up to 1200°C and cooled with air or water. At temperatures above 1000°C, scale begins to form, which affects a parameter such as the brittleness of the alloy.
Stainless steels of this grade are easily weldable with all welding techniques and are characterized by their formability. This allows the use of the steel in the production of rolled steel through drawing and forming processes.
The alloy is used in modern turbines, internal combustion engines, and construction.
