The austenitic steel AISI 316Ti is a heat-resistant steel with high corrosion resistance. The alloy contains titanium, which makes the steel somewhat more difficult to work and weld, but at the same time offers excellent strength and wear resistance.
The composition of heat-resistant steel AISI 316Ti is very similar to its analogue AISI 316, the main difference is the presence of molybdenum (up to 2.5%) and titanium (0.5%) in the composition. Chromium and nickel additives are also present.
The molybdenum components provide maximum corrosion resistance, resistance to acid vapours, chlorine compounds and seawater. Titanium additives increase the mechanical strength of the alloy and make the steel more durable.
The chromium-nickel steel AISI 316Ti is used in a wide range of applications. It is used to manufacture pipes, containers and tanks for the food and chemical industries. The steel is neutral to acids and alkalis and does not react with aggressive components in the environment or the product.
It is used in the oil and gas industry as well as in medicine and pharmacology. It is used to manufacture all types of working tools, bearing parts, springs, turbine parts and automotive engines. It is the main alloy for the construction of structures with increased strength and durability requirements.
