HyMu 80, also known as UNS N14080, is a nickel-iron alloy characterised by excellent magnetic properties. With a nickel content of around 80 % and an iron content of around 20 %, this alloy offers high magnetic permeability and low coercive force. These characteristics make HyMu 80 ideal for applications that require effective magnetic shielding or high magnetic sensitivity.
The chemical composition of HyMu 80 is precisely controlled to achieve the best magnetic properties. The alloy consists mainly of nickel (approx. 80 %) and iron (approx. 20 %), but may also contain small amounts of other elements such as molybdenum, which further optimise the mechanical and magnetic properties.
The outstanding feature of HyMu 80 is its high magnetic permeability, which enables efficient conduction and focussing of magnetic fields. In addition, this alloy has a very low coercive force, which means that it is easy to magnetise and demagnetise.
