Description:
1.4305 is an austenitic stainless steel with added sulfur (0.15 - 0.35%). The sulfur content means that 1.4305 has very good machinability and has developed into the standard good for machining (turning, drilling, milling and grinding). With regard to the chip breaking behavior, the sulfur content causes short-breaking chips. Since this makes 1.4305 ideal for automatic machining, it is also known as a free-cutting steel good.
