1.4435 stainless steel is an austenitic material with high corrosion resistance. This alloy is written as 1.4435 or X2CrNiMo18-14-3 according to the EN standard. AISI 316L is usually compared to 316L (1.4404) stainless steel. The material 1.4435 has a higher content of chromium, nickel and molybdenum and because of these elements it is more corrosion resistant than the alloy 316L (1.4404). This grade is used in corrosive environments and if 316L alloy is not enough, 1.4435 stainless steel could be a very good alternative material. 1.4435 material normally used in petrochemical industry, pharmaceutical industry, chemical production plants and automotive industry. This grade is not a heat resistant alloy and is not suitable for use at high temperatures.
Properties of the material 1.4435:
excellent corrosion resistance
resistant to intergranular corrosion
suitable for low temperatures
usable up to 500 °C
good weldability
Useof the material 1.4435 :
