CuSn6 is a copper alloy with 6% tin, which is produced by solid solution strengthening. This alloy has high strength and good spring properties with sufficient conductivity and good cold formability. It is wear-resistant, very corrosion-resistant and has good solderability.

The electrical conductivity of this alloy is influenced by various factors, including the chemical composition, the degree of cold forming and the size of the crystal grains. Strong cold working and fine crystal grains can reduce the conductivity.

CuSn6 is resistant to natural and industrial atmospheres, sea air, drinking and industrial water (at moderate flow rates), seawater and non-oxidising acids, alkalis and neutral salt solutions. However, CuSn6 is not resistant to ammonia, halogen, cyanide and sulphide-containing solutions as well as to atmospheric and oxidising acids. Bronze alloys, on the other hand, are more resistant to seawater and pitting.
