CuSn6 is a copper alloy with 6% tin, produced by solid solution strengthening. This alloy has high strength and good spring properties with sufficient conductivity and good cold formability. It is wear-resistant, highly corrosion-resistant, and well solderable.

The electrical conductivity of this alloy is influenced by various factors, including the chemical composition, degree of cold deformation, and grain size. Strong cold deformation and fine grains can reduce conductivity.

CuSn6 is resistant to natural and industrial atmospheres, sea air, drinking and service water (at moderate flow), seawater, as well as non-oxidizing acids, bases, and neutral salt solutions. However, CuSn6 is not resistant to ammonia, halogen-, cyanide- and sulfide-containing solutions, as well as atmospheres and oxidizing acids. Bronze alloys, on the other hand, have better resistance to seawater and pitting corrosion.
