Properties of the material 1.4529: excellent corrosion resistance; good weldability; usable up to 400°C; good polishability; excellent mechanical properties; good resilience and wear resistance;
Application of the material 1.4529: chemistry, petrochemistry; Shipbuilding; Environmental engineering; construction industry; apparatus engineering;
The material 1.4529 is an austenitic stainless steel with high corrosion resistance. This material represents a further development of the stainless steel Alloy 904L (1.4539) with an increased molybdenum content and additives. For this reason, the material is classified in the highest corrosion resistance class.
Stainless steel 1.4529 is characterized by its good resistance to local corrosion such as crevice corrosion, pitting or chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking. In addition, it has excellent mechanical properties and can be used in a wide temperature range. In contact with sulfuric or phosphoric acid or chlorides and salts, it offers excellent resilience and wear resistance.
The applications for 1.4529 in connection technology are very diverse. It is approved for use in pressure vessels at temperatures from -196°C to 400°C. It is particularly suitable for use in areas where chlorides, salts and diluted sulfuric or phosphoric acid or sea water are used.
