Stainless steel round bar made of the material 1.4462 is a rustproof DUPLEX - steel with molybdenum additive. This metal has excellent susceptibility to stress corrosion cracking, resistance to outdoor air, good durability.
This steel is characterized by its combination of an approximately 150% higher austenitic quality than 1.4404 and excellent corrosion resistance comparable to 1.4404.
The use of duplex stainless steels, particularly 1.4462, is gaining ground due to their unique combination of excellent corrosion resistance, resistance to stress corrosion cracking and high tensile and yield strength. Due to its high strength, this steel is ideal for the construction industry. The relatively low nickel content compared to conventional austenitic alloys makes 1.4462 an economically interesting alternative.
