Hexagon stainless steel SW from 7mm to 60mm 1.4404 Aisi 316L UNS S31603 6-point hexagon rod
The material 1.4404 is the low-carbon grade of 1.4401 steel. It shows good acid resistance. It is not prone to carbide segregation at the grain boundary and is therefore insensitive to sensitization. It is mainly used in welded parts with larger thickness over 0.2 inch. The austenitic microstructure also gives these stainless grades robust toughness at low temperatures down to absolute zero (-273°C).
1.4404 alloy, also known as 316L stainless steel, has a lower carbon content compared to 1.4401 material. Although 1.4404 has a lower carbon content, it is very similar to 1.4401 in most commercial and industrial applications. Importantly, the cost of the two related types is also nearly the same and both last a long time, with incredible corrosion resistance properties and a great choice for stress oriented applications. 1.4404, on the other hand, is a good choice for consumption where a lot of welding is required, as 1.4404 is less prone to weld breakdown.
