316Ti stainless steel is a very good grade of stainless steel for corrosive environments. This grade is written as 1.4571 or X6CrNiMoTi17-12-2 according to the EN standard and UNS S31635 according to the UNS standard. Material 1.4571 has better corrosion resistance than alloy 316L due to its titanium content. Titanium makes the 1.4571 stainless steel material more resistant to corrosion and also makes the material more resistant to friction. The titanium element in this alloy is a really difficult element to melt and if titanium does not melt properly and does not disperse homogeneously, machinability is very poor. The titanium element in the 316Ti material also makes this alloy better for high temperatures.
