Welding electrodes made of stainless steel 1.4519 (904L) have been specially developed for welding highly alloyed austenitic stainless steels. This electrode is often used in corrosive environments as it has excellent resistance to acids, chlorides, and other aggressive media. Stainless steel 904L contains high amounts of chromium, nickel, molybdenum, and copper, giving it excellent mechanical and chemical properties.
Features of stainless steel welding electrodes 1.4519:
- excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion and pitting
- high strength and good weldability
- resistant in highly corrosive media such as sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and saltwater
- high resistance in chloride- and acid-containing environments
- easy handling and uniform welding process.
Areas of application
- Chemical industry: Equipment and container construction for aggressive chemicals
- Energy and environmental technology: Flue gas desulfurization systems and heat exchangers
- Offshore and marine technology: Systems operating under highly corrosive conditions
- Food and pharmaceutical industry: Containers, pipelines, and equipment with high hygienic requirements
Welding electrodes should be stored dry and protected from moisture to ensure the quality of the welds.
