Welding electrodes made of stainless steel 1.4519 (904L) were specially developed for welding high-alloyed austenitic stainless steels. This electrode is frequently used in corrosive environments due to its excellent resistance to acids, chlorides, and other aggressive media. Stainless steel 904L contains high levels of chromium, nickel, molybdenum, and copper, giving it excellent mechanical and chemical properties.
Properties of welding electrodes made of stainless steel 1.4519:
- excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion and pitting
- high strength and good weldability
- resistant in highly corrosive media such as sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and saltwater
- high resistance in chloride and acid-containing environments
- easy handling and smooth welding process.
Areas of Application
- Chemical Industry: Construction of apparatus and containers for aggressive chemicals
- Energy and Environmental Technology: Flue gas desulfurization plants and heat exchangers
- Offshore and Marine Technology: Facilities operating under highly corrosive conditions
- Food and Pharmaceutical Industry: Containers, pipelines, and apparatus with high hygienic requirements
Welding electrodes should be stored dry and protected from moisture to ensure the quality of the welds.
