AISI 316L is a cold-tough austenitic steel. This steel is corrosion-resistant in aggressive environments and against most external influences. Steel 316L has the property of maintaining its microstructure at rising and falling temperatures.
The low carbon content of steel 316L makes it an ideal material for welded constructions. The molybdenum content protects steel 316L from destruction by seawater and acetic acid vapors. An alloy of iron and chromium forms a protective layer on the surface of the steel Aisi 316L that is resistant to mechanical and chemical influences.
Due to its properties, round steel 1.4404 is used in many areas: In architecture and construction for facades, roofs, claddings of all kinds, and other architectural elements, especially for outdoor use, in technical applications, e.g., for the construction of special industrial plants in the chemical, food, paper, and pulp industries, in mining, in the pharmaceutical industry and in petrochemistry for the construction of containers, tanks, pipes, and much more.
