Alloy X-750 has good mechanical properties at high temperatures up to 800°C. The alloy was developed from Alloy 600 by adding aluminum and titanium to make the alloy precipitation hardenable. Alloy X-750 also has good formability and excellent oxidation resistance at high temperatures.
Alloy X-750 offers excellent performance in highly stressed environments and is therefore often used in gas turbines, nuclear reactors, and aircraft structures.
The nickel alloy X-750 can be machined using conventional methods for iron-based alloys. High-speed machining such as grinding, turning, or milling is performed with water-based coolants. Drilling, broaching, tapping, or boring is done with heavy lubricants.
