Material 2.4819 / Alloy C-276 is known for its corrosion resistance in a wide range of aggressive environments. A high molybdenum content provides resistance to local corrosion such as pitting.
The low carbon content of material 2.4819 minimizes carbide precipitation during welding, maintaining resistance to intergranular attack in heat-affected areas of welded joints. It is used in chemical processing, environmental protection, in the production of pulp and paper, in industrial and municipal waste treatment, and in the recovery of “sour” natural gas. The 2.4819 bars are used in applications for air pollution control, including chimney liners, ducts, dampers, scrubbers, flue gas aftercoolers, fans, and fan housings. In chemical processing, the alloy is used for components such as heat exchangers, reaction vessels, evaporators, and transfer pipes.
W.Nr. 2.4819 / Alloy C 276 / Inconel C 276 / Hastelloy C-276 is resistant to general corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, pitting corrosion, and crevice corrosion in a variety of harsh environments. Its resistance to carbide precipitation during welding helps maintain corrosion resistance in the heat-affected areas of welded joints.
