Description:
The main advantage of a square or rectangular pipe is its pronounced spatial stiffness compared with products with a circular cross-section. It is a closed profile with four stiffeners. When the profile pipe is used as a load-bearing member and the load is applied at an angle of 90° to the plane, the bending stiffness of the profile is about 35% higher than that of the round counterpart.
Rectangular and square pipes are much easier to process due to their smooth surface. They can be primed and painted more easily, and protective coatings adhere better to the surfaces.
The steel profile pipe has a relatively wide range of applications. A well-finished profile pipe is used in pipework where no special requirements are placed, but also as a structural element, as a support, and for cable routing. The broad range of applications for the formed pipe-shaped products is explained by the fact that these products have higher mechanical strength and a shape that is best suited for designing various structures.
