The material 2.4819 / Alloy C-276 is known for its corrosion resistance in a wide range of aggressive environments. A high molybdenum content confers resistance to localized corrosion such as pitting.
Low carbon content of 2.4819 material minimizes carbide precipitation during welding to maintain resistance to intergranular attack in heat-affected areas of welded joints. It is used in chemical processing, environmental protection, pulp and paper manufacturing, industrial and municipal waste treatment, and “sour” natural gas recovery. The 2.4819 rods are used in air pollution control applications including chimney liners, ducts, dampers, scrubbers, flue gas reheaters, fans and fan housings. In chemical processing, alloy is used for components such as heat exchangers, reaction vessels, evaporators, and transfer tubes.
W.Nr. 2.4819 / Alloy C 276 / Inconel C 276 / Hastelloy C-276 is resistant to general corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, pitting and crevice corrosion in a variety of harsh environments. Its resistance to carbide precipitation during welding maintains corrosion resistance in the heat affected areas of welded joints.
