Description:
Titanium Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V is a commercially pure titanium alloy grade with excellent biocompatibility. Material 3.7065 has good mechanical properties. The achievable yield strength is comparable to that of austenitic stainless steels. Interstitially dissolved elements in small quantities increase corrosion resistance. Titanium Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V is widely used in many different applications that require strength, ductility, and low density, and may be surrounded by corrosive media. Titanium Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V can be used continuously at temperatures up to 425 °C; for short periods, operation up to 540 °C is possible. Typical applications for Titanium Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V are orthopedic implants in medical technology or heat exchangers in energy technology. Further possible uses are also found in aircraft construction and electrochemistry.
Material 3.7065 is used in the chemical industry, including plant construction, aerospace, the medical field, and vehicle construction.
