Stainless steel sheet strip 1.4404 flat bar 20x0.5mm–90x6mm V4A cutting strips
Stainless steel 1.4404 (AISI 316L) – non-rusting, acid-resistant CrNiMo steel, non-magnetic, very good corrosion resistance, improved resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, oxidation resistance up to 870°C. Used in the chemical industry, aerospace, oil and textile industries. Available from Auremo.
For the width and length of a sheet metal cut, the tolerance is +/-2mm
Important: Sheet metal cut pieces are not suitable for decorative or visible areas. Cutting is done with a guillotine shear. Edges are sharp! Not all sheets are in protective film. Surface is pure industrial quality—scratches cannot be ruled out! Please request separately in advance—we will try to find a solution for you.
Description:

Grade 1.4404 is a stainless, acid-resistant steel that is well-suited for machining. The steel has improved machinability and is suitable for manufacturing corrosion-resistant products through machining. 1.4404 has very good corrosion resistance, making it suitable for many applications. The addition of molybdenum improves resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-containing environments. It is not magnetic, but can become easily magnetic through cold forming and welding.
Stainless steel 1.4404 has good resistance to oxidation up to a temperature of 870 °C.
The material 1.4404 can be welded well using a variety of conventional welding processes. It cannot be hardened by heat treatment, but it can be hardened by cold forming.
The material 1.4404 is typically slowly heated to 1150 °C. The temperature range for forging is 900 °C. If no bending is intended, the material is cooled in water to avoid undesirable phases that reduce corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. Temper colors and scale layers reduce corrosion resistance and must be removed by pickling or other suitable processes.
Properties of material 1.4404:
- high durability
- good resistance to oxidation at a temperature of 870 °C
- high corrosion resistance against chloride-containing media
- non-magnetic
Main application of material 1.4404:
- Chemical industry
- Aerospace
- Pulp and paper industry
- Oil industry
- Textile industry
