The material 1050A is an aluminium alloy of the 1000 series. It is regarded as commercially pure and is formulated for primary forming into forged products. In European standards it is designated as EN AW-1050A, and in international standards as 3.0255.
This alloy is characterized by its high electrical conductivity, good corrosion resistance, as well as good formability and weldability. Owing to its properties, it is particularly suitable for:
- Automotive cladding
- Equipment in the chemical and food industries
- Light reflectors
- Strips for heat exchangers
- Sports goods, decoration, apparatus construction
