The material 1050A is an aluminum alloy of the 1000 series. It is considered commercially pure and is formulated for primary forming into forged products. In European standards, it is referred to as EN AW-1050A, internationally as 3.0255.
This alloy is characterized by its high electrical conductivity, good corrosion resistance, and good formability and weldability. Due to its properties, it is particularly suitable for:
- Automotive cladding
- Equipment in the chemical and food industry
- Light reflectors
- Strips for heat exchangers
- Sports equipment, decoration, apparatus construction
Material properties 3.0255:
- Relatively soft
- Very good cold formability
- Good weldability
- Good corrosion resistance
- High electrical conductivity
- Moderate seawater resistance
